Many of our members have not had the opportunity to see just what our grant recipients are doing with the investment we have made in their projects. On Wednesday, May 12, 2010, you will be able to witness just what the StEP (Student Enterprise Program) of the Economic Center for Education and Research is accomplishing in the schools.
The 5th Annual Market Madness is the culmination of a year-long program in which 1300 students grades 3–5, from over 20 schools will present their projects to the public and to each other. The classroom businesses are comprised of jewelry, decorative pencils, unique decorated photo frames and bakeries, is just a sampling of the creative projects these students have developed. Market Madness this year will focus on community and literacy. These students will be divided into three groups, one will sell their products, one group will shop and the other will receive a University of Cincinnati campus tour. They will then rotate so that each group has the opportunity to share in all the activities.
For those of you who can attend, this showcase will be housed at the University of Cincinnati Recreation Center from 10:00 a.m. until 12 p.m.
