Though the July 4th picnics and celebrations are over, Independence Day brings to mind several things that remind me of Impact 100:
Fireworks — They take careful planning, thorough checking, and after much anticipation, are exhilarating and awe-inspiring to watch. The same is true of the work of the Grant Review Committees — months of reviewing, researching, thorough financial checking, and much anticipation have brought forth five terrific finalists who are each uniquely awe-inspiring in the work they do. These finalists will be revealed on
August 18, so come and join in the celebration!
Independence/Freedom — Voting in elections is a freedom, privilege, honor and responsibility. Though perhaps not quite as important as voting in the political elections, the Impact 100 process of voting for the grant recipients is both empowering and powerful. Your contribution and your vote make a difference.
Leadership — The authors and signers of the Declaration of Independence were wise men from varying backgrounds and disciplines all coming together to form “ a more perfect union”. These wise men remind me of all the wise women, also from varying backgrounds, disciplines and stages of life, who have given much of their time and talent to continue the mission of Impact 100. I want to publicly thank departing Board Members,
Amy Callow,
Lisa Kaminski,
Kim Lauch,
Judy Schlather,
Delane Starliper, and
Elaine Suess for their leadership, tireless efforts and wisdom. The Impact Board of Directors welcomes its newest board members: Sally Nugent, Erin Arnold, Michelle Heitkamp-Begg, Sue Brunker, Marilyn Kinne and Jackie Wilson. Thank you to the Founding board members, and all other Board Members for your service these past nine years.
