Susan Otto can be defined in many ways, but one of her favorites is as a “connector.” Susan just seems to have the knack of linking people who can benefit each other. One of her favorite connections to make is Impact 100 to others who are passionate about helping their local communities in whatever capacity they feel they can provide.
Susan lives near Devou Park on the hillside next to I-75/71 with her husband, Ron. They love to do yard work, vacation in different locations around the world, and work out at her alma mater, NKU. Though they have no children, they have 33 nieces and nephews and are now being blessed with “great” nieces and nephews.
Susan has been playing volleyball for over 30 years ā and she’s still hoping to improve. She has recently taken a wheel pottery class at Baker Hunt in Covington. She loves having lunches and dinners with her friends, which might explain why she needs to work out.
As many of you might remember, Susan’s business, Training-Modules.com LLC, sponsored the Ascent event in December of 2009. For over 13 years, Susan has created Facilitator and Participant Guides for companies whose internal trainers use her materials to “wow” their learners. She also has a new website, www.Self-StudyCourse.com that focuses on individuals who want to learn more on their own.
Lisa Kaminski invited Susan to attend a party at Luann’s house, where she joined Impact that night…2006?!?…regardless of the year, she joined because she can write a check and be done! She liked the fact that all the money goes to selected, local non-profits and doesn’t go for administration ā unless, of course she directs additional money that way.
Though Susan “writes the check,” she knows that competent, professional, intelligent women do the research and narrow down the best selections. And when it all is said and done, she gets to vote (or even not to vote) for the non-profits that she feel will benefit the community from her point of view.
Susan loves the fact that the organization allows her to get involved as little or as much as she want to get involved…which means that she can attend the meetings, make phone calls or send emails to get past and new members to join, host a party to get new members, attend the dinner where each of the selected non-profits from each area shares their “story, etc. There is plenty for everyone…and for Susan…she’ll write a check and say… “Ah, I’ve done a good thing….”
