On Monday, February 22nd Impact members gathered at
Garnish Catering for the “Cooking with Impact” event. Thirty women attended
this fun event hosted by Kim Barretta, owner of Garnish Catering and a member
of Impact 100. The evening began with Roland Kocsis, an Anthony House
representative who shared the story of the Anthony House Project and talked
about the "impact" that the 2009 Impact 100 Grant has had for
them. The Anthony House has hired new employees because of the expanded
hours necessary to serve the needs of homeless young adults between 18–25 years
of age.
Following this update, Kim had six stations arranged for the
members to get a hands-on experience and prepare six different
appetizers. Everyone enjoyed learning and making the appetizers, and the
best part was tasting each one! It was a great evening that we hope will become
an annual event. Many thanks to Roland Kocsis from the Anthony House who
inspired us all, and our appreciation goes out to Chef Baretta for hosting such
a “tasty” event.
