Overview
The Impact 100 process begins on January first of each year. On that date, all Impact 100 members have joined and this determines both the number and dollar amount of the grants that will be awarded that year. A few weeks before this, Impact 100 conducts an information session for non-profit organizations in the ten-county Greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky area interested in applying for the Impact 100 grant. The purpose of this meeting is to review the Impact 100 process, timeline, and grant qualification guidelines, as well as answer any questions from the non-profit attendees. In addition, during the month of January and February, Impact 100 members are forming the committees that will review the grant applications.
On February 15th all the grant applications are due. The applications are then reviewed for completeness, sorted by review committee and distributed to the respective committee members. From the end of March until June, the five grant review committees of Impact 100 (Education, Health & Wellness, Environment/Preservation/ Recreation, Culture and Family) review the applications and conduct site visits to narrow their choices. At the end of the review process, each of the committees chooses a finalist. These five finalists present their grant requests at the Annual Awards Celebration in September. After the finalist presentations that night, each member casts a vote (or has sent an absentee vote in advance). The votes are immediately tabulated, and the Impact 100 grants are awarded at the end of the evening.
